Weekend Trail Crew

Join us for a special weekend Trail Crew! We're teaming up with the North Yarmouth Parks Committee to brush back the South Brook Trail at Chandler Brook Preserve, where RRCT holds a conservation easement. Folks who normally can't attend regular Wednesday sessions are encouraged to join us! There is no registration, just show up! Last November we helped reopen the South Brook Trail which was overgrown and crowded by invasive plants, including shrubby honeysuckle, multiflora rose and Japanese barberry. The trail has since grown in and can use some brushing back. We’ll trim overhanging branches and cut back encroaching vegetation so that the trail corridor is around 6’ wide x 8’ tall with a 24” wide trail tread.

RRCT will bring loppers, hand saws, a pole saw, and a chainsaw. Feel free to bring personal tools that may be helpful. Don't forget a water bottle, work gloves, and wear blaze orange (it’s hunting season).

‍Parking: We'll meet at the trailhead parking lot at 1409 North Road, North Yarmouth. When you see a blue "Chandler Brook Preserve" sign, take a right onto a gravel driveway. Stay left as the driveway forks.  The parking lot is at the end of the driveway, just before a railroad crossing and kiosk.
