Royal River Watershed T-Shirt Design Contest
Calling all artists, illustrators, designers, and creative minds!
Royal River Conservation Trust (RRCT) is looking for a fresh design for our next community T-shirt, and we want YOUR artwork to represent the beauty, wildlife, and communities of the Royal River Watershed.
The winning artist will receive:
- 10 complimentary T-shirts featuring their design
- Recognition at RRCT's Annual Meeting, newsletter publication(s) and on social media
- The satisfaction (and bragging rights!) of seeing your artwork worn throughout the watershed
Submission Deadline: Tuesday, September 8th, 2026 at 5:00 pm
Design Guidelines
Designs are open to artistic interpretation, but it should celebrate the Royal River Watershed and include:
- A depiction of the Royal River
- Text for the watershed's primary municipalities: Yarmouth, North Yarmouth, New Gloucester, Gray, Pownal, Durham and Auburn. Freeport and Cumberland are optional.
Bonus points if you utilize RRCT's brand color palette and typeface linked here.
We also encourage you to include notable landmarks, wildlife, preserves, parks, trails, tributaries, recreational opportunities, local history, or other features that make the Royal River Watershed unique. Feel free to use our previous T-shirt design as inspiration.
Designs will likely be printed on gray or navy blue shirts.
Submission Requirements
- Please only submit your original art, no AI-generated artwork. We want to celebrate the creativity and perspectives of our community.
- Both digital artwork (Procreate, Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, Canva, etc.) and traditional artwork (paint, pen, colored pencil, collage, etc.) are welcome. Traditional artwork should be scanned or photographed at high resolution.
- Submit your design electronically in the highest resolution possible as a JPEG or PNG attachment to: info@rrct.org
- The maximum dimensional size of the design must be 10”x12”. Any design exceeding these bounds will be scaled to fit.
- You may submit more than ONE design. Each design needs to incorporate all the requirements above.
- Submissions are due Tuesday, September 8th, 2026 at 5:00 pm
Submit Your Design
Email your design(s) to Info@RRCT.org. In addition to your artwork, please include your first and last name, email address, phone number, town of residence, and a description of the inspiration for your artwork.
Winner Announcement
Designs will judged by RRCT Staff on the following criteria:
- Concept and originality of design
- Visibility - Is it eye catching and visible from a distance
- Usage of RRCT branding guidelines, including colors and typefaces
- Successfully capturing the spirit of the Royal River Watershed
The winning design will be announced at RRCT's Annual Meeting on September 15th.
Fine Print
By submitting an entry, the artist consents that it is their own original work and that they have all necessary rights and permissions to use any included elements. RRCT reserves the right to make adjustments and alterations to the winning entry. The winning artist grants RRCT the exclusive right to the design, including any modifications thereof, to be used on promotional/marketing and other RRCT materials.
