John Shipp

Executive Committee

John spent the last 32 years building a restaurant development and management company, where he was responsible for all financial, budgeting, and operational aspects of these businesses. Growing up in Denver, Colorado, as a grade schooler John began to realize his love of the outdoors. He spent the next 50 years living, enjoying and giving back to the outdoors. John is a founding member of the Vail Valley Trails Alliance, an organization dedicated to trail planning, building, and maintenance throughout the Vail Valley for all trail users. He has also served as a board member of the Walking Mountains Science Center, supporting natural science education in public schools and sustainability programs, and on the board of The Cycle Effect, which promotes youth in mountain biking.

John and his partner, Becca Curtis, who grew up in North Yarmouth, made the decision to relocate to Maine full-time and now live in Yarmouth. His daughter, Lyle, resides in Scotland. In his free time, John enjoys biking, hiking, fly fishing, skiing, and boating. John is deeply committed to the mission of RRCT and is honored to serve as Stewardship Committee Chair and on the Board.
